5.0 out of 5 stars No record collection is complete...blah blah blah!, 21 Jan 2008
This review is from: Twelve Dreams Of Dr. Sardonicus (Audio CD)
Mr von Clinkenhoffer's excellently informative review is right on the money. Suffice to add that this is surely one of the greatest "hippy-era" albums ever released. The early Spirit albums are all very worthwhile, but this is the one which best defines what they're all about. "Twelve Dreams" embraces a breathtaking range of styles, but remains a totally coherent whole. A masterpiece of an album which succeeds in being pop, rock, heavy, folky, jazzy and psychedelic. Totally and utterly indispensable.

Hello GG. I'm taking a breather from my everyday life, and "chilling out" in Portugal. Can't quite think of what to review next. Plus my record/cd collection is a couple of thousand kilometres away.

I bought my little-played re-issue copy of the sensational "Dr Sardonicus" in Bristol. Orange Epic label....mint condition.....only 5.40. My friend waggishly suggested that "it can't be much good". (Cos the record hadn't seen much action.) What a chump!!! This album is totally and utterly fabulous. He'll probably never get around to hearing it. His loss.

Take it easy. Peter

Peter enjoy the vacation! when I started to review CD`s I was almost going right back to my 1st few hundred albums. I do not review things I dont like cant see the point! So I just stick to what I know and love. maybe we should all do it this way. Geoff

Thanks, Geoff. Couldn't agree more. I'd rather write about things which i really like/dislike. Or if i totally disagree with another reviewer's comments. I also try to target those things where there are few (or no) reviews. Pointless doing the 99th thousand review of this, that or the other! Take it easy. Peter
