Lovely pictures but nothing more,
This review is from: Favole 1 Stone Tears (Hardcover)I bought this on a bit of a whim because I saw some of Victoria Frances' work in a shop and had to investigate immediately. The paintings, which I primarily bought it for, were in no way a let down and as beautiful and gothic as I hoped. However, it is not a very big book and the stories were certainly a let down due to the awkwardness and lack of meaning in the writing. But it remains to be visually spectacular and I would recommend it to anyone interested in gothic art.

("lack of meaning in the writing")
Well, I think it depends of the language. For example, I've read it in portuguese and spanish and the story made all the sense (and do not forget that there are more 2 volumes to complete it). But when I have peeked at the english version, all the enchant of the words kinda... disappeared :/
That happened also with other book, with me: I bought "Forgotten" from Cris Ortega in english, after seeing it in spanish months before, and the writing of the translated version sounds a bit boring and lacks interest in literary means.
