Even though it has an almoust prohibitive price, if you need to study raster GIS and map algebra, this book is a must. A study area is used throughout the book and makes it easy to follow the complex theory. You might also be interested to know that Tomlin developed a software based on this book, a software that was then taken further by Thinkspace Inc. under the name of MFworks, thus making MFworks the ideal companion software for this book. If you are studying GIS at a postgraduate level, or working as a professional GIS consultant, this book gives you full insight into the world of spatial analysis in raster GIS.
