Not mind blowing, but very good and whats needed,
This review is from: Bleed Like Me (Audio CD)
This album is definatly a return to the "traditional" garbage sound, unlike the previous Beautiful Garbage album. This is not a touch on the simply amazing Version 2.0, but it is in, in a word, good.
The tracks seem slightly lacking compared to the bands older albums, but I'm sure this is intentional as the band wanted to have this album a lot simpler. To get the best out of the Album it needs to be listened to a few times and played loud! The songs definatly sound like they would be great live, which is what the band wanted.
Personal favourites are the single "Why do you love me", The pounding "Bad boyfriend", "Boys wanna fight" and all three "ballads" of the album "Bleed Like me", "It's all over but the crying" and "Happy home" are all superb, and possibly the best work on this album. But all songs are good and no "filler" songs are present.
So overall this is a welcome return to form, on a par with their debut album, but not at as good as Version 2.0. Definatly recomended to all Garbage fans and worth a listen to newcomers alike.
