This review is from: John Pawson Works (Hardcover)
I bought this book expecting a fairly in depth and academic review of Pawson's work, needless to say i was let down by a thoroughly unimpressive and apparently un researched book. Throughout the book it appeared that Sudjic was more interested in trumping his friend Pawson, as opposed to any attempt at critical analysis.
Drawings were poorly presented with no north points, scale and a complete lack of coherence. 3D models were used without context and one always got the feeling that this was how they had been used in the design process, ignorant of context.
I dont believe Sudjic made one original comment at any stage in the book, ambiguity seemed the order of the day.
Beautifully photographed, but as a book a missed oppurtunity. I strongly advise anyone interested in architecture against this book.
