5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tablet, 28 Feb. 2012
This review is from: Sony 9.4 inch Tablet S (Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz, 1GB RAM,16GB Memory, Android 3.1) (Personal Computers)
OK let's put this thing about the tablet not being able to access the SD card to bed once and for all. The Gallery, Music Player and Video Player which come with the tablet cannot access the SD card directly. To play via those you have to transfer the files to the main memory.

HOWEVER there is a simple solution to this. Simply download the following apps.

Quick Pic - This will allow you to view pictures from anywhere on the tablet including the SD card. It wil also allow you to play video from anywhere on the tablet.

PowerAmp - This will enable you to play music from anywhere on the tablet including the SD card. You can also create Playlists etc.

File Manager HD - Not absolutely nesessary but it will enable you to see all your files including those on the SD card.

OK Sony should have included this facility in it's players. They probably want us all to buy the 32k version - rather sneaky Sony. If you have a conscience you should fix this pronto.

Apart from that minor problem (which is easily overcome) this is an excellent tablet. Great display and great browsing experience. Remote control is a real bonus. In my opinion this tablet equals or even surpasses the Samsung Galaxy Tab and even the IPad 2. Hooks up to my HTC Desire wifi hotspot on 3 no problem.

Just buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Hi. Firstly you need to set your phone up as a Wifi hotspot. I presume you have a dataplan which gives you internet on your phone. To set up the hotspot press menu-settings-wireless & networks. Now select portable wifi hotspot settings. Leave name as HTC Netwok, security as wpa(tkip) and enter a password and save. Now press back button and switch on the hotspot by pressing Portable wifi hotspot. Allow a few seconds and the box will become ticked indicating that the wifi hotspot is active. Now go to your tablet and select wifi settings and select HTC Network as your wifi source and enter your password. Hey presto your tablet should now have internet access. Note that your phone needs to have a decent mobile network 3g signal ie. you should be able to get decent interrnet on your phone. Otherwise you obviously won't get good internet on your tablet. Hope this helps.
