Lanciani's book is great. But this reprint is very shoddy, and I advise you to get one from some other company.
The first thing that will strike you is the type size. It's enlarged and slightly distorted.
What the publisher started with was a PDF. First, they chopped this down to the text-block. But they did it shoddily. In the process they cropped off the bottom of the page in some cases, wherever the last line was just a few words. Likewise they lost most of the captions on full-page landscape-format illustrations, which makes most of them useless. Next, they *should* have padded the cropped image with white space, padding it out to the size of the standard print-on-demand format. But they didn't bother. Instead they just submitted the cropped image, and let the printer resize the image to fit the page. Result: the text is enlarged and distorted, and harder to read.
I was able to read the book text OK, all the same; but not where they had carelessly cropped the text itself.
I felt cheated. I didn't get what I paid for.
Avoid this one.
