Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Warmawear Battery Operated Heat Therapy Pad - Electric Heating Pad (Personal Care)
This barely gets warm at all with the supplied 3 cell battery pack. I hacked mine and put in a 6 cell LiMH pack and now it gets lovely and warm in under a minute and battery should still last 2 hours! Product has not been developed properly.

Hi Chris, could you maybe explained to me how you hacked it? I would like to attach a Rechargeable Lithium battery to it (3.7V 2000mAh). Don't know if this would be possible... what do you reckon?

sorry so late

I cut off the power plug and replaced it with a pp3 battery connector ( I do soldering). Then used a 6xAA battery holder from Maplins. I don't think that your plan to use a 3.7 V battery will improve the basic unit though. You could use a smaller 6xAAA battery holder and it should still run for over an hour.

Dr Chris says:
another thing - lithium ion batteries cant be allowed to discharge much below 2.8V or they die.
