1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality product, 30 May 2009
This review is from: PURE ONE Mini, Compact Portable DAB/FM Radio - Black (Electronics)
This was a total waste of money for me. There was some sort of fault with the connection between the chargepak and the radio which meant that occasionally the radio would crackle on and off. As it wasn't clear which item the fault was with and I'd bought them from separate retailers I didn't know which to return. In frustration I banged the radio on the table and the display broke. This product has a design fault with the way the chargepak connects and as it is essential to have the chargepak if you want a portable radio it seems that the only reason for not packaging then together is to keep the headline price of the radio down.

Pro B. says:
I thought these radios took either expensive disposable batteries or the cheaper (over time) rechargeable battery pack. Many users will be happy to put it on a shelf, plug it in and run it off the mains, and won't need either disposable batteries or a battery pack. It's good that the rechargeable battery pack is an optional extra: those who don't need don't have to buy it, while those that do need it can order one at the same time. It does sound like the radio could be a bit sturdier--is this another design flaw?--if bashing it about in frustration causes it to break!
