So it finaly arrived! One of the only games to live up to it's hype this year.
On my first playthrough I suffered badly. The game has a steep learning curve that is remorseless, if you can't adapt you will spend a lot of your time dead. I spent no time using the pistols in this game until I restarted and used the dodge. It's only about half way through that the neatness of what you've learned comes to light. The gun flourishes are spectacular. My character throws the pistol in the air, tango's round the guard, catches it and... BOOM!;) But this is one of maybe a dozen, maybe more, of these kind of fight finishes. I haven't seen many repeat, and it's always with a different camera angle. It'll keep you watching for them...
The ability to switch off the 'no frendly fire' rule in vilages whenever you want is an inspired idea, and the way civilians respond to you just drawing your gun is excellent.
The open world is large and great to look at, the fights are spectacular and the game gives a polished feeling lacking in so many titles these days. It's all star voice cast shines and it's comedy is never far behind but always nearly above the belt. There are a few small glitches and nasty quest breaking bugs but nothing too noticeable. It's obviously a port but it's very well done.
If you want a looong weekend of English humor and Fable inspired gameplay you need Fable 3.
