Laugh? I thought I'd never start.,
This review is from: Gwendoline [DVD] (DVD)
Just Jaeckin describes this as a comedy in the extras. Well, after reading all the over-the-top reviews about what a top "guilty pleasure" this is I finally took the plunge and sat, for the duration, bored rigid wondering why this film has the reputation it does. Nothing happens for the first hour except for a few fights. Tawny Kitaen looks very young and not much like the rawk chick she later became, and even when we finally get to the Amazonian island I was propping my eyelids up with matches waiting for something even vaguely titillating to happen. Which it didn't. If you're 14 this the pup's naughty bits, but if you're a grown up with any wordly experience whatsoever it's a complete waste of time and money, a collosal bore. Finally, how the heck do you switch the subtitles off?

G. A. Holohan says:
Fully agree with you I got a full uncut version of this film and it was still crap!
I can't understand why this film is held with in such high regard.
