This review is from: Midnight's Wild Passion (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the third book I've read by this author, and once again, I'm not disappointed.
Well known womaniser and rake, Nicholas Challoner, the Marquess of Ranelaw is out for revenge. He will seduce Cassandra, the daughter of his enemy, Godfrey Demarest, a man who ruined his sister, and now lives in Ireland as a nun. He thinks the plan will work easily, but then he meets Cassandra's chaperone, Miss Antonia Smith.
Despite her glasses and dowdy appearance, Ranelaw is drawn to Antonia, but Antonia is aware his designs on Cassie aren't honourable, and is determined to protect her. But Ranelaw isn't put off, and doesn't see why he can't learn more about Antonia, as well as seduce Cassie.
But Antonia is hiding a secret, known only to Cassie and her father. They grow closer, and Antonia can't hide her temptation. But she's been stung before, and can't risk her heart again. She hopes Ranelaw will leave Cassie alone, but he tells her he can't. All the while, they are trying to unearth each others secrets, whilst fighting their attractions. And just when Ranelaw believes he's finally got his woman, Antonia's past catches up with her and decisions have to be made. What will Antonia choose?
Overall, the book was excellent. Nicholas and Antonia are perfectly matched, and it was fun to watch their love unfold.
Now to choose which unread Anna Campbell to read next.
