Frustrated and Disappointed!,
This review is from: Garmin Forerunner 310XT GPS Multisport Watch with Heart Rate Monitor (Electronics)
I'm a first time buyer of Garmin products, and received this less than a month ago. The setup is great, it's a lightweight piece of equipment comparative to it's size and (after a bit of a wait) receives GPS accurately and picks up the heart rate monitor superbly (from my experience thus far whilst running).
HOWEVER, the software side of things is incredibly bad! Linking the for the first time through the USB ANT agent took a while (though this was expected as per instructions with the unit). The Garmin connect software also lagged, but eventually picked up my initial exercises. Over the coming weeks though, the connection has become increasingly difficult; Garmin Connect and the ANT agent clash so you can only use one at a time, signal is only intermittently picked up, and as of yesterday activities upload to a certain, random percent then drop without fully uploading.
There are many forums detailing users with this issue (software is all up to date), and for me it has become absurd; leaving the Garmin for hours next to the ANT agent STILL doesn't upload my recent activity.
All in all, a nice product, ruined in my personal experience by bad software. So be warned, if the provided software doesn't link your Garmin properly, you'll build up a mass of activities that won't upload, leaving you immensely frustrated and almost defeating the purpose of the product.
On the verge of returning the product and not touching Garmin again. Disappointed.
