I bought this after a miserable evening trying to get a TP Link TL-WN951N to work, which it did not, so got returned.
This in comparison was a breeze to install. Took about 7 minutes to install/set up and got 100% signal strength.
I then moved th PC to the upstairs bedroom (router downstairs in living room) and I'm pleased to say it still gets 100% signal strength. Download speeds are good with it too, I updated iTunes (about 27Mb) in under 2 minutes which is pretty comparable with the ethernet connection downstairs, so good performance there too.
Why only the 4 stars then?
I have only been using it for a day, and I preferred windows to run the connection (which it happily did) but when I booted up later in the day windows could not establish a connection (could not obtain DNS) so I downloaded the latest software/drivers from the TP link site and used their software again, which seems to have fixed the issue. It has dropped the connection a couple of times while connected, so I will see how it behaves in the future.
I like that it is USB, so will transfer to my new PC when I get one or could be used to enhance a laptop's connection in a poor area, this makes it very versatile.

I'm a bit confused does this plug into the existing router, or your laptop? Thanks

It plugs into a laptop or a full size pc. Lets any PC connect wirelessly to the router.

To follow on from my first review, it now connects flawlessly, with excellent connectivity so I'd highly reccommend it.
