In defence of George Martin,
This review is from: Yellow Submarine (Audio CD)
The film score by George Martin is too often dismissed as being insubstantial or inconsequential and this is unfair. There are some lovely melodies and clever cross refernces to existing Beatles melodies as well as the brilliant arrangement skill he brought to the Beatles strings. It's a soundtrack embued with both the optimism and mystic fun of the period in which it was written. And yes, you get 'All Too Much' and 'Hey Bulldog' too - what more could you want?
