This review is from: Secret of the Sands, 2009 ReadersFavorite.com 'Fiction-Mystery' Silver Medalist, SECOND EDITION (Kindle Edition)If this is a children's book I downloaded by accident then I apologise for the words below.
A terrible book. The plot is transparent and so are the characters. I got about fifty pages in and couldn't believe how juvenile the writing style is and how simplistic the plot and characters are. At first I thought I'd mistakenly come across the writings of a 12yr old with an overactive imagination but then as I read on I came to think that perhaps its a childrens book, as sort of Enid Blyton - Five go off to Egypt, as it were.
I have to agree with Mark Berry's comments as well with regard to the language and stylisation used when the author writes about ancient Egypt - its just not credible for a Prince of Egypt to say to his wife "we need new leadership".
I am if I'm honest not going to finish reading it, the books characters are by far the most annoying aspect and are so under-developed they could be children themselves.
Don't waste your money or your bandwidth. Avoid.
