Easy Recipes, Beautiful Images,

I've always been pretty scared away from curries because of all the different ingredients and steps. I felt like I was cheating if I just went out and got the powders already ground instead of using whole ingredients. When this book came, I was so mesmerized by the photography (Jonathan Gregson), I couldn't resist the urge to read through and tab a recipe to try out right away. I opted for the light-scented cumin chicken curry. I had all the ingredients on hand without having to buy anything special. It took very few steps to get everything into the pot and on its way, and was pretty hands off. My kind of recipe! People more familiar with Indian recipes may say that all curries are like this. I had read many recipes before but never tried them.
Anjum's writing is clear, steps are easy to follow, and nothing is too involved.
This was the perfect book to start out with, and I think others with my same level of curry skills would find this book very approachable. I really really like it a lot.
Will be using it again this coming weekend.
