1.0 out of 5 stars Where have the reviews gone?, 10 Oct. 2009
This review is from: Brisingr: Book Three (The Inheritance cycle) (Paperback)
Dreadful book. Cliched story, awful writing, horrible one-dimensional characters and embarassing 'moral' dilemmas.
Not worth spending any money on this; just imagine you are the main character from Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or any fantasy story every written, multiply your skills and special-ness and the awe with which you are held by every other character by 10 for no reason whatsoever, then narrate your journey in the most incomprehensible way possible, and you have a fairly good idea of what it would be like to trawl through the hundreds of pages in 'Brisingr'. Except that's probably still not bad enough.

Ratings seem to be something of a conspiracy as I remember there being many, many more reviews for this book only a short while ago (lots of negative ones...) but they no longer exist. Don't be fooled by the ratings, it's a travesty of a novel, can't believe it was ever published!

- Things not properly mentioned in this short review: inexplicable universal admiration for terrible, arrogant, foolish, unlikeable self-insert Eragon, pointless plot branches and a ridiculous, inconsistent vocabulary (especially in speech). Please read something deserving of your time and money!

Ratings may seem to be something of a conspiracy to your mind, but if most of those said 'disappeared' reviews are merely inane rants, then we should rejoice.

I don't see constructive criticism. I see hot-headed complaining.

To be fair, they did remove ANY negative review for one of Robert Stanek's books (infamous fraudster with a horde of alt accounts)
