This review is from: Arts & Craft - 20 programmes [DVD] (DVD)This video collection contains a lot of good information for those who sew, and some which is maybe not so good.
The disadvantage of the video as opposed to the written word, is that the presenters sometimes seem to feel obliged to dumb things down to a very basic level. That's ok for those who are really just starting out, and don't know one end of the needle from another. Practitioners with more experience will have to exercise patience.
Might be better to grade productions according to level.
The video on applique work is really excellent, I relly enjoyed it and picked up a lot from it. The quality of the background music throughout, in all of the videos, was really quite irritating, better to leave it out altogether than have it jangling away to fill every possible gap when the presenters weren't speaking. Dreadful.
The technical quality was quite poor overall, but the expertise of the presenters made it a worthwhile purchase in spite of the obvious faults.
