This review is from: Garmin Nuvi 2340 4.3" Sat Nav with UK and Western Europe Maps (Electronics)
This was bought for me over a year ago after I got lost in Leeds one evening. I had heard a lot about how wonderful sat navs were, but I am afraid this one hasn't convinced me. Yes, it has been helpful a few times but other than that I cannot recommend it. Going into Leeds again, I found the instructions came sometimes too late to get the right turn and still end up going round and round until I found where I was supposed to be.
If you go to Scotland, you must remember to tell it you are changing country. I usually navigate as my husband falls asleep if he's a passenger but when I last went to Scotland I decided to drive and rely on the sat nav;at a crucial moment the screen went black at Glasgow for no apparent reason and I missed the turn off. I was re-routed down a narrow pot-holed road that was only being used by bicycles.
I must admit I haven't set My Trends to favourites, but it takes me completely different routes from the ones I know are the quickest. It misses the turn at the bottom of the road and takes me into an estate to get to the main road...well it would if I listened to it.
Overall- it will get you to where you want to be...eventually, but you would be better off looking at a map and just using it at the tricky bits.
Have a look at other alternatives before purchasing this one.
