As another reviewer wrote:"Amazon have this as "frequently bought together with" Caro Emerald's Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor, which is how I found Tape Five."
Positives include some fine musicianship, especially clarinet and drums, and a crisp production throughout. On the negative side, I can't help feeling that the band try too hard sometimes, and that the air of pastiche is just a bit too intrusive: (watch the video of "Pantaloons" on Youtube to see what I mean). I find that the album plays better on shuffle mode, as the track arrrangement tends to place like -with- like, and the two ends of the cd sound a bit samey if run as laid down.
That said. It is a foot-tapper; even if I I can't help thinking of the 1970s Dutch group, Sailor, whenever I play it.
