Shine on you crazy diamonds,
This review is from: Americana (Audio CD)
I love it when NY and Crazy Horse are on form and clearly enjoying themselves. I thought that's what making music was all about. I'm not a massive NY fan but I sit in the 'Godfather of Grunge' camp. Dirty, sloppy distorted guitar is music to my ears. I don't think there is a poor track on the album and if you can't boogie to most of it rigor mortis may have already set in. The excellent production by Neil Young, John Hanion and Mark Humphreys holds the whole thing together and makes sense of the unkempt live feel of the entire album. This is the one for those hot summer!! care free evenings in the garden with a small glass of beer and a chicken leg to chew on.
The disc comes in a gatefold card sleeve (keeping the plastic to a minimum) with a booklet containing the lyrics and information about the origins of each song. Excellent stuff Mr Young and Crazy Horse. Thank you
