3.0 out of 5 stars 'Part 1' of Series 5 - not the last installment, 9 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Breaking Bad - Season 5* [DVD + UV Copy] (DVD)
"The Fifth Season - Contains *All* 8 Episodes on 3 discs" reads the packaging. As per other reviewers, I certainly pre-ordered this thinking it *was* the complete and final installment of Breaking Bad. I think Amazon could easily make it clear that more is to follow - e.g. 'Series 5 part 1' or 'the penultimate installment' etc. I think it's sailing close to Trading Standards legality, but more importantly, the spirit of this is being flouted, which is very disappointing.

The 'Ultraviolet' service (which allows you to stream the eight episodes to PC/iPad etc), is a really interesting idea. You can for example watch a few episodes on your tv via dvd, then when you can't rest until you've found out what happens after the cliffhanger watch another in bed on your iPad. As with some Sony systems, it's a bit clunky to register and a bit confusing in terms of where/how to access things, but that said, once you have a model of what to do, it's quick and fairly easy to use.

But Amazon, please be clearer about what we're buying - I would have waited for the full 16 episode set, which will probably cost a lot less than buying the two 8 x packs, so I'm left feeling rather ripped off.

Hi Nick

Thanks for your review - you're the only UK reviewer who has mentioned Ultraviolet. Good to know it works here.

Could you take a moment to tell me if the special features are covered by Ultraviolet too, or is it just the episodes? I like to listen to the commentaries on my laptop while I work, but it doesn't have Blu Ray capabilities. I'd have to listen via UV.

Thanks!
