No Audio Outputs !?!?!,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sony BDPS1100 Smart Blu-ray Disc Player (discontinued by manufacturer) (Electronics)
I ordered this because I was interested in the Sony BDPS185B.CEK, but Amazon's listing for it stated that the present unit, BDPS1100, is a "newer model" of the BDPS185B.
However unlike the older (?) unit, this model has NO audio outputs. That's ok of course if you only use the unit via HDMI, never with a separate audio component, but...
A rather stupid corner-cutting. I give it four stars since I trust it works well otherwise.
A note for buyers: the unit at first refused to play an "All Regions" Bu-Ray disc, saying I don't have permission. Having it reset to factory defaults (even though I had set nothing) fixed that, strangely.

Thanks for your comments which are useful. Can you confirm if both Lovefilm and Netflix are available via this box please?

The BDP-S1100 has a digital coaxial audio connector, but it does not have component stereo audio output for when listening to music only.

These sites should be available over the internet when you connect the device.

The Sony website indicates there is no web browser app, so not so sure about that...

I connect my TV/BluRay/VHS player up to my hi-fi but I feed all the items into the telly and pick up the audio feed from the digital output from the television. Main benefit being that it's just one link into the amp from multiple sources.
