This review is from: The Complete Farmhouse Kitchen Cook Book (Hardcover)
I bought this recipe book in 1986 after watching the television programmes. It's literally falling apart. I've star rated and made notes alongside each recipe that I've used. Over the years I've bought other recipe books and each time I go to use a recipe, out comes my trusted farmhouse cookbook to compare with the 'contemporary' version - and I almost always end up using the recipe from my 'old friend' This is not a Jamie Oliver/Gordon Ramsey/Nigella Lawson type cook book - it's a good, honest, back to basics, 'stew and dumplings' cook book. Also recipes that have been sent in by viewers are included - I wish they'd do a repeat of the television programmes so people who think they're not-so-good at cooking can see how easy it is to turn out a tasty wholesome meal.
This book covers everything from making soup, main courses, puddings, baking cakes/pies/biscuits, making preserves - just about everything The Complete Farmhouse Kitchen Cook Book
