Probably nice for a one person household,
This review is from: Joseph Joseph Arena Dish Drainer - Green (Kitchen & Home)I am skipping over why exactly my husband thought this was an appropriate christmas present (clue - it was cheap in the Amazon Black day sales) and can absolutely say my dislike for this product is in no way the result of the huge grudge I am harbouring... but this item is awful.
I am sure it's quite a funky item for some young hipster living in a kitsch flat in London who has a cleaner paid for by daddy who comes in three times a week; for the average family and for the price paid (even in the sale)it just doesn't work. The main fault is that it is just too small and requires too much forward thinking if you want to fill it properly. You have to really jam plates in to get them to stay upright and there's no space for the amount of glasses and cups we generate as a family of three. Most days we just end up with a precariously stacked mountain of stuff which turns drying up and putting away into an exciting game of plate Jenga. Added to that the water doesn't drain out completely, who needs a dish drainer that you have to continually clean to stop bits of gunk forming in the channels?
Having said all that he did manage to match the it to the colour of my mop bucket. I am buing him a washing up bowl for his birthday.

What a fab review Donnadonna, made me laugh so much. Have had my eye on the grey dish drainer but don't think I will bother now. Style over substance me thinks? Keep smiling...Marionmarion

I can just imagine what your face was like on Christmas Day!!! Charming eh!!! I bet he still can't see how he got is so wrong.................... My husband is very good at convincing me to buy things because they are a 'bargain'. Just keep checking hotukdeals.. I'm sure you'll get some naff pressies for him if you wait long enough. Brilliant review by the way.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that you don't sit down with a piece of paper and draw up a detailed plan to pin to the splashback setting out what order you will wash the dishes, glasses and cutlery ready to stack them in an appropriate manner?

Thanks for the great review - I was just about to buy one as a present for my wife in a flash sale but I'll hold off and get the steam mop instead.

Brilliant review confirmed my thoughts of gunk & channels. Show how generous you are and and include a dishcloth with the washing up bowl.

ha ha, great review - not up there with the Veet for Men or the Barrentine Meths, but amusing just the same.
Having read your review, I'm not going to buy this item - lets face it, for £37.50 I'd expect it to wash my dishes and put them away afterwards.
Not the greatest Xmas present, but hats off to hubby for correctly matching it with the bucket!. I bet the only draining that was done that day was the colour from your face when you unwrapped it!

I LOVE this review! - Thank you SO MUCH for making me laugh!! I did wonder, from the pictures, whether the drainer would a) hold up our plates securely and b) whether the excess water would drain well - seems I was right to wonder, on BOTH accounts!! Thank you SO MUCH!! I hope hubby enjoys his washing-up bowl - has he given any hint as to which colour he has particularly set his heart on?!! ;)
