5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing motherboard! 32gb RAM - Not 16gb, 6 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard (Socket AM3+, Up to 32GB DDR3, USB 3.0, uATX) (Accessory)
brilliant motherboard, wont find a better one anywhere for this price. one thing I will say is that this supports a maximum of 32gb RAM - not 16gb as stated here. there are 4 RAM slots each capable of 8gb RAM modules.

did you actually have 4 8gb sticks in this? looking for a decent micro atx board, with 4 ram slots, keep seeing all this chat about limitation at 16gb, would like it to be a bit more future proof than that?! thanks

Yes you are correct as listed on the motherboard specs http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LMUSB3/specifications/ this board will support 32gb of ram

I purchased this board and it is only recognising 4 out of the 8gb when I have 2x8GB inserted. Did you flash the bios or something after you purchased it?

L. Bradbury says:
no I didn't have to do anything, are you sure you've inserted the RAM modules correctly?

Adam Smith says:
Bryan's machine should still recognise 8gb if only one module was installed correctly. 32-bit versions of Windows (Vista and 7) can only address 4Gb of RAM, so that is the more likely explanation.

My machine is running Win7 Ultimate 64-bit, 2 x 8gb ram installed and in total it's only recognising 8gb. Pop one stick out and it's only seeing 4gb of the 8gb stick, tis a strange one.
