One brave PC,
This review is from: This Victorian Playground Part 1; Policing a Victim Culture in Britain (Hardcover)
I will try to keep this fairly short and to the point. I bought this book a few weeks ago and have just finshed it. I am a serving police officer and heard about it through a friend who actually knows the author. PC Pinkstone is a real police officer obviously, and by all acounts is still a police officer, and his employers know who he is! The context (which he always goes on about in his book as being very important) in this case is that he is either very brave or very mad to challenge what he has challenged, and I am going to go for brave and possibly a bit mad too. This book is a hammer blow to the nonsense that has made our job rubbish for the past few years, and England along with it. Make no mistake it is quite a tough read but his arguments are solid and spot on. There's too much detail in the book to go into with just this review, but you will just have to read it to find out exactly what is wrong, why it's wrong and where it leaves us. Hats off to one brave PC.
