Great binding, lays flat and stays open!,
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto V Limited Edition Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides) (Hardcover)
The title of my review is the highest praise I can give a guide book. Thanks to the binding and the hardback cover, the book lays flat on a desk and stays open, without the pages wanting to close again, even when looking at the beginning/end (which usually pulls paperback books closed due to the weight). This is the best thing you can ask for in a guide, meaning you don't need to hold it whilst you play. It's very comprehensive and separated into distinct sections which are easy to follow.
The one problem I have with it is the lack of an index or some sort of similar tool within the book, so it's not so easy to find what you want very quickly. The beginning of each section, of which there are five (missions, strangers and freaks, random events, hobbies and pastimes, miscellaneous) does have a list of contents and page numbers, but it's not always clear in which section something might be.
I do think guides for gta games have always been very helpful on the whole, and in many ways necessary due to the vast amount of small hidden items and events to find.
I definitely think the extra price is worth it for the convenience of the book holding itself open, for some it might not really be a big problem. I don't however think the extra cost is justified by the 'extra art and lithograph'. Not a selling point at all for me, certainly after seeing them.
