5.0 out of 5 stars The creative force in artists, 17 Aug 2008
This review is from: Talking Art: Interviews with Artists Since 1976 (Paperback)
The interviews in this collection reveal the individual character behind the facade of the artists, and acknowledge the way that personal background and social stance affect the art works. The interviews are arranged chronologically from 1976, presenting the scope of the artistic development through the years.
Each interview acts as a personal biographical story, and reading through the book the reader can observe a thread going through the interviews - a sense of a gap or incompleteness that artists describe. It seems that this sense urges the artists to fill it by exploring realms of unknown creative feelings that reside within them. This book is an overflow of emotions, told through the historical and social events of the times in which the artists worked.
