This review is from: The Number Of The Beast (Audio CD)
This would be a good starting point for anyone who is interested in Iron Maiden, but has not really listened to them much. Don't be put off by opening track Invaders, which must be one of the worst the band has ever recorded - The Number of the Beast contains no less than five genuine classics. Children of the Damned, 22 Acacia Avenue, Run to the Hills, the title track and, of course, Hallowed be Thy Name should be in every metal fan's - indeed, every rock fan's - collection. The Prisoner isn't a bad track, but is overshadowed by those around it, while Gangland is pretty poor too. Still, you shouldn't be put off by these glitches. Just about every Maiden album has highs and lows, but the the highs on this release are absolutely stratospheric.

Completely agree with Doc. "Invaders" is brilliant. A heavy metal song and a history lesson all in one.
