Sturdy, but heavy, and smaller than expected...,

For it's size, it's a truly weighty bit of kit. I'm not someone who obsesses about pack weights, but I can't see this ever making it into my rucksack. It might go away with me on some group camps, but I'd never hike with it. On the upside the thickness of the metal means your food doesn't go stone cold within seconds whilst outdoors, and it's not so easy to burn stuff as you get a more even heat. It's made out of stainless steel too, so is easier to clean than an aluminum one. It's also not going to fold in on itself like the cheap mess tins are.
That said, for the price, it leaves a lot to be desired. At least with cheap mess tins you can pack stuff inside them. This is twice as heavy, yet you can't pack a spork inside it (about half a centimeter too small to accept one even on the diagonal).
My tip is to buy the small trangia mess tin. It stores my trangia triangle, burner, teeny bottle of meths and a spork all in one, and fits nicely into a side pocket of a rucksack. It's aluminium, but sturdier than the cheap mess tins, and has a tight fitting lid. Also about £7 cheaper. Buy that one, not this.

Or get a French Army mess kit. Three parts, well made, locks together and you can get a new one for £5. Has space for including a hex stove inside.
