This review is from: Kidulthood [DVD] (DVD)Some extremely common people do nasty things to each other.
Emphasises the shallowness of today's film makers. Ingredients: take all the negative media hype about young people, mix it with a thuggish alien cultural perspective, serve it up as a right-on piece of relevant topical docu-drama for a wide-eyed teenage audience. Result: it will quickly become as dated as the teddy boy films of the 1950's.
Acting is of the modern drama school variety; direction is workmanlike, more like a TV film than a feature.
DVD quality is adequate for a low budget effort, sound quality is poor and, for once, I was glad there were no sub-titles.

I agree, the acting is very bland. Watching this just made me want to watch Boyz'n'da Hood again. Dug it out and just watched it and thought it was in a different league.
