1)Frazer Hines, Who co- narrates & does a exellent interpretation of the Late Patrick Troughton.
2)The story by Eddie Robson is a very mysterious story which is a change from the usual base under siege.
The plot is a bit of a slow burner which may not be to some listeners taste.
What's Up Doc?
The TARDIS lands in the city of Tromesis on Earth -- but it's a world far from the one that the Doctor, Jamie & Zoe recognise.
The buildings are ruined, the streets deserted & against the devastation they see a ghostly mirror image of another place -- the city as it was before disaster hit.
People vanish here, & huge metal birds attack from the sky.
Can the Doctor find the future, in a place that doesn't have one?
Eddie Robson is a writer who has a knack of writing exellent Doctor Who & here writing for the second Doctor, Jamie & Zoe he deals a intriguing adventure.
The plot has the Doctor, Jamie & Zoe arrive on earth in the city of Tromesis were the city is in chaos as the city's are in ruins as it's inhabitants struggle to survive as they are being attacked by Hawkers strange robtic birds but why?
To make matters worse a meteorite is on a collision course for earth which will wipe out all life of the planet.
Can the Doctor & his companions save a city that is barely surviving & heading for Doomsday & why do they keep seeing a ghostly mirror image of the planet before disaster stuck Tromesis?
I enjoyed this story as Eddie Robson has written a great adventure & i like the build up to the second episode while it does go a little array it certainly delivers in it's last 15 minutes as the Hawkers pose are real threat & then there's that final scene at the end of this adventure you wont forget in a hurry.
Patrick Troughtons story usually were base under siege so i commend the writer for a refreshing intriguing adventure here as this is well narrated by Frazer Hines & Wendy Padbury who played companions Jamie & Zoe on tv.
A highly recommended Companion Chronicles audio release & Big Finish prove time & again that when it comes to Doctor Who audio adventures they produce top quality entertainment.
