The Early SAS - A Fine Depiction,
By A Customer
This review is from: Stirling's Men: The Inside History of the SAS in World War II (Hardcover)
This book really gets to grip with the formation, utilisation and culture of the early stages of the SAS. The individual exploits of the men, their frustrations and successes, and the achievements of the regiment in its various guises are described with care and without over-glamourisation.
My grandfather was one of the many SAS soldiers referred to in the book, and the author has captured the spirit of the men and the times exactly as he described them to me.
Buy this this book, and marvel at the ingenuity, skill and courage of this disparate group of fine soldiers.
