Fabric 55 - Major let down.,
This review is from: Fabric 55: Shackleton (Audio CD)
Apart from reading the more than convincing reviews from RA, I was left rather dumbstruck when listening to
I was really expecting a different sort of deep house affect but was dissapointed to be served with a really slow, lost sound. I take my hat off to the dj who mixed the tracks as they had no foundation and no beat whatsoever.
If I could have listened to one or two of the tracks, I probably would not have purchased the cd.
So now it lays in its box never to be used again...

Snip It says:
You were expecting some deep house? I thought you read the review on RA? It mentioned nothing about deep house, but dubstep instead. This is a very deep compilation indeed, but clearly it proved to be too deep for you. Disregard this poor review, Shackleton's mix is legendary.

Dear MIK, what on Earth are you talking about? "a different sort of deep house"? And then "hats off to the DJ"? HE, Shackleton, is the DJ! Who else would it be? His mother in law? The whole point is in his choices and in the way he mixes them. And this is why it would not make any sense to listento "one or two tracks". No, really...

Not sure what the guy who posted this review was expecting - or why he thought this CD would give it to him but as advised above, the review should be disregarded. It's a shame when un-informed people who for whatever reason are disappointed with their purchase decide to post a negative review to try and assuage that disappointment. You think you wasted a few quid. Get over it!

Clearly it was a little over your head, stick with Seth Troxler from now on.

The dignified thing to do would be to delete your 'review'.

Clearly this review was written by someone who has no idea about electronic music. Why on Earth would you expect Deep House from Shackleton? This mix is beautifully sequenced and very atmospheric, I usually stick to techno, Surgeon, Dave Clarke, Luke Slater, Ben Sims etc but I found this mix a refreshing change and play it often. It's the kind of mix that transcends genre and simply exists as quality electronic music.
