Compact but with a decent stereo sound,

This little bar-shaped speaker enclosure has two speakers at each end, giving a surprisingly wide stereo image. It has a micro-SD card slot, a 3.5mm jack in, it supports Bluetooth and the mini-USB doubles as a charger and as an audio-connector for your PC. I would recommend it particularly for Bluetooth or USB use.
The unit has a perforated metal grille over the speakers, a solid plastic body and silicone rubber feet that stop it from vibrating on the desktop. The controls are minimal: there's an on/off/play/pause/pairing button, and a volume up/skip forward and volume down/skip back buttons. That's it. On the back there's the micro-USB, a 3.5 mm jack socket and a micro memory card slot. Most importantly, it looks good and it sounds good. Having two speakers on each end of the bar means they don't have to work too hard to deliver a decent volume, so the sound comes out cleanly and fully. It's understandably rather light on bass, but it delivers otherwise a very decent sound, and the stereo sound is very clear.
Bluetooth pairing is easy, and makes (for example) a Kindle Fire HD sound a whole lot better. Getting the micro-USB port to work was a bit fiddly, but I don't know why. After turning it on and off a few times it started working, and has worked ever since. The instructions say not to play music while you're charging it, but you don't really have a choice if you're playing music through the charging cable! The 3.5mm jack works fine too, but means another cable, and I don't like unnecessary cables. I haven't tried the memory card option: without a display I normally find it a bit difficult finding the track I want, and I'd rather not have to try.
I had intended to use this unit as a Bluetooth speaker; in fact, I now have it connected to my PC as the default speaker for when I'm not gaming (when I'm gaming I wear headphones). It looks good, doesn't use up much space (it sits below the screen of my monitor), and while not exactly Hi-Fi, it sounds good enough for casual music listening.
Note: EasyAcc sent me one of these speakers so that I could review it.
