An hour and 45 minutes of going nowhere,
This review is from: Like Someone in Love (Blu-ray)
If you're going to spend a long time building up to something then the destination should be worthwhile. This film has been described as "low-key" and some might say slow burning but in the end I was left disappointed at having wasted my time watching it because it goes nowhere. Characterisation, observation etc. are great in a movie but, for me at least, not enough on their own. I have to buy into the story and there has to be a pay off somewhere along the line but here I was just left disappointed. A feel a bit like the client in this movie, seems like he was sucked in and taken for a ride (not the kind he paid for) but he didn't get his "happy ending" whatever form that might have taken for him. I would have been satisfied with any kind of climax but I was left with droopy eyelids and disappointment with the failure to deliver. If I could describe this film in one word it would be "pointless".
