A very good guide that impressed a relative cynic!,
This review is from: What's up with your handshake?: Using the Secrets of Strategic Communication and Soft Skills to Win: 1 (Paperback)As a relationship developer in a big Global professional services firm, I have many years experience of networking and cold calling at CEO level in many very large companies.I run my own training courses on the topic of issue based relationship development and coach on soft skilss myself. I occasionally read books of this kind and am generally very cynical about them. This book is however an exception. It is the first of its kind that I have read from cover to cover in one sitting.It is very readable and the authors style is amusing down to earth and grounded in real examples.Although it covers many areas and topics with which I am familiar and in fact consider myself a very competent practitioner, it is not only full of really good practical tips but provides a fantastic reminder of just how good you need to be to win in a very competitive environment.
I thoroughly recommend it not only to relative novices but also to seasoned professionals.I have bought a number of copies for my colleagues and friends and will often refer to it as a very useful toolkit.
I hope there will be a sequel.
