Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A very imaginative book about human bodies, and how we compare with selected bits of other animals. So, for example, it invites the reader to "squeeze your arm" in large type, and then tells the reader that they have 650 muscles in their body... and then, on the opposite page, in smaller font it tells the reader about orangutans swinging through the trees, salmon jumping waterfalls and tiny ants carrying huge (for them) weights.
The style is approachable and the drawings are beautifully done. You could read it to a very young child without having to censor anything, or an older child could read it themselves without getting stuck or bored. I would guess age range 4 to 6 or 7, maybe younger if a parent/carer read it aloud.
Inside the front cover is a whole lot of "edu-kay-shun speak" that I didn't quite follow, but the book is linked to the common science topic 'Ourselves' or 'All about me'.
