Low on fuel,
This review is from: Fuel (PS3) (Video Game)
Fuel is an off road racer. Unlike most it is bit more on the serious side. Kinda like Dirt and the like.
Career mode is all about clearing zones. You earn stars by winning races. Earn enough to unlock an adjacent zone and access more races. You also get challenges which can be innovative like chasing helicopters and such like. You get a choice of a rally car, bike, buggy and an ATV. Not much choice really.
You can also go open world, sandbox style either on or offline. Both are the same. This way you drive around and hunt down races to take part in dotted around the landscape.
The world can only be described as a giant national park that has been ravaged by fire. You race on tracks, fire roads and access roads. This would make a very good mountain biking game. Graphics are very good and the handling is decent enough. The sound is a bit dull as is the music and as such the game lacks atmosphere. It is the only game I have played where you can't adjust the controls.
The problem with the game is that progress is slow. You basically need to win on almost all events in a zone to progress. However some are very long, time consuming and challenging. So you can get stuck on one race until you win to progress. Hence the game can get boring.
A nice idea but the gameplay is somewhat restrictive. Could have been much better.
