Another fabulous book by TG,
This review is from: Fire Maiden (Mass Market Paperback)
"Fire Maiden" is the second book in Tina Gerow's "Gargoyle" series; tales of ancient female warriors. Without their protection the prophesised "son of blood" will die, and the dark reign of the "daughter of destiny" will begin. With only a smattering of the prophecy shared, these 4 women and their destined mates will play vital roles in deciding the outcome of the ultimate battle between good and evil.
With the birth of the "son of blood" imminent, the key figure in the next part of the prophecy is fiery weapons master Kefira. She is determined her sister gargoyle Ariel is kept safe at all costs, even if she must walk the path of evil and make the ultimate sacrifice.
Trying to keep strict control over her emotions, Kefira has difficultly maintaining her calm with the arrival of Dagan; with whom she shares a very painful history with. Deeply scarred by Dagan, Kefira is unaware that to ensure the survival of the "son of blood", she must willingly give her heart, soul and body to the very man that hurt her so deeply in the past. But infected with an evil poison Kefira finds herself confused over her vows of protection; leaving her torn between good and evil.
As significant figures in the prophecy (both alive and dead) from the first book "Stone Maiden" are mentioned, I recommend you read the prequel first. I seriously raved about "Stone Maiden" and the second book of this series is equally good; its intricate story line and rich array of fascinating characters took my breath away.
