This review is from: Newes from the Dead (Paperback)
I found this a sad and dark tale, but one I found hard to put down. The tension of the poor girl lying there on the dissection table still alive had me holding my breath with worry for her. I enjoyed the structure, the characters and the resolution very much. I also felt that with this book, Mary Hooper had stepped up her writing to a new level - it's her best book so far. (And I enjoyed the others)
I agree with the other reviewers that this isn't suitable for younger readers, due to the sexual content - and if they're squeamish, the medical parts too! - but it would be a great read for many teens. It was all the more powerful for being based on a true story.
