This review is from: Dark Water [DVD] (DVD)I thought this was actually pretty good,no I haven't seen the Japanese original,I have seen both versions of The Grudge though and I was pleasantly surprised by that(the American one),It's a rare thing,a 'horror' film with no gore,no gratuitous violence and thankfully no potty mouths, there is honestly more bad language in five minutes of an Eli Roth film than in my entire DVD collection, possibly even my CDs as well!

I'm with you entirely on the bad language of so many modern movies of all genres. Why do they think it's necessary? I don't mind the odd cuss word when it's really appropriate but too often it's a substitute for poor scripting. So therefore it's refreshing to find movies like this that can be completely effective without falling back on the tired old expletives. More like this, please. As for Eli Roth and his ilk, I won't let their foul-mouthed movies anywhere near my house!
