Classic Bon Jovi,
This review is from: 7800 Fahrenheit (Audio CD)
I love this album, it sounds so different and way better than the first album and absolutely nothing like anything that would follow. For that reason it kind of stands out in the Bon Jovi catalogue. Had they stuck with this sound they would not have achieved all that they have but I'd still be a fan for sure.
I'm stuck for choice to say what my favourite song is, for a long time it was Always Run To You but nowadays I prefer Secret Dreams. Can't say anything bad about any of the tracks here. As far as ballads go there is only Silent Night, it is a very good song without being too soppy. I'm discovering as I get older that I don't really like soppy love songs anymore.
I saw JBJ say that 7800 is the temperature at which rock melts inside a volcano, which is where they got the idea for the name.
It's not a patch on Slippery When Wet or New Jersey but I like this better than some of the new stuff.
If you have recently discovered you like Bon Jovi it would be good to check this one out because you probably haven't heard any of these tracks. I think a lot of middle of the road fans just like the big hits, most of which you could get by simply buying Crossroads. 7800 is before they made it big.
