So if you like exploration shoot-em-ups you'll have a great time. This game has all the fantastic level design and brilliant boss battles one expects from Nintendo. There are some wonderful landscapes and for all you completionists plenty of stuff to find. My one comment would be that the game is disappointingly short. Especially after the sprawling Prime series but is a lot of fun.
Though the reason I gave it only three stars is not just because it is short but because, firstly, all the mystery built up throughout the game is resoled in one enormous exposition in the last five minutes. And secondly because the Samus in this game is poor voiced and most importantly, not the fantastic independent character of the previous games, which, as far as I'm concerned, is unforgivable.

G. Johnson says:
She is Samus. You, like other metroid fans are just projecting your own idea of what you thought the character would be like from the old games. Seems she was always a feminine character from the beginning. After all when it was first revealed she was a woman in the original NES game she was in a bikini. Is it really so much of a big deal if she is independent or not? Is it such a big deal if she also has to sometimes depend on other people for help?
Zero Suit Samus has recently been shown in the upcoming new Smash Bros game and proves my point further on the character being more feminine then we were led to believe.
