One of the supreme Liverpool live bands,
This review is from: I Wouldn't Want To Knock It (Vinyl)
What a great band these were. Two first rate singers headed the outfit and all group members were fine musicians. Other classic songs of theirs were: "Caress me like a flower", "Rich men don't", "Say something good" "Your eyes", "falling". What I wouldn't give to see them playing at the Warehouse again, probably with The Cherry Boys - two quite brilliant live bands. Real musicians! As vocalists alone the two front men in Da Books took some beating. And their songs were all so lyrical and remarkably catchy. The music produced by both bands was of a different order from that of the more commonplace bands of the time. How was it they did not gain wider appeal? Their status in my mind remains. A peerless live band!

Nugent Dirt says:
Def one the more overlooked alt pop bands of the 80s, not just from the 'Pool but from anywhere. I recall John Peel playing 'Caress..' a fair bit., a top 10 hit if ever there was but it was not to be. Shame.
