Excellent but disappointing end,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Good Cop [DVD] (DVD)
Loved this story, the acting was excellent and the direction of Sue Telley was brilliant, the ony problem I have is the ending, although the last episode was very good it lacked something.....wanted to see everything explained (wont go into details because I will spoil it for others) but nevertheless and a very good drama.

I agree, it was a highly watchable series but it did lack any kind of resolution - a very bizarre decision, even if a 2nd series is forthcoming.

The book his dad was reading was Crime & Punishment, which he read to him towards the end of the final episode, which suggests regardless of whether he gets away with it or not he would have a similar fate to Raskalnikov of C&P, which is being eaten up by what he had done, probably unravel and even confess. He could just about handle putting down lowlife crims, but like Raskalnikov his actions result in the death of an innocent - an innocent who's also a petty criminal but ultimately harmless and good-hearted - that fact destroys him.
