This is definitely a step up from recent albums, and could be Album 3 after `ten' and `Vs'. Yield was the next I bought but whilst I was notstaligic (and in america at the time on holiday, bought it in the airport) I didn't like the way they were heading with the muffled generic noise they were churning out. This has up and downs all through the album, though I think they need to drop the self harmonising tones (layered) as it sounds old. Throughout you will hear certain links to the old days, key changes etc that are ace and some cool guitar solos, some songs I do have to hit `next though as its nothing new or the vocal irritates me, others I think brilliant they're back on form. Maybe next album will be a right clanger? Definitely worth a listen.. and relisten, its on repeat in the car atm, a lot more than I can say for the other trash in the charts!
