This review is from: Traitor's Blood: Book 1 of The Civil War Chronicles (Hardcover)
This book really brings the English Civil War to life and gives a breathless and exciting account of the Royalist attempt to take London in late 1642. Interwoven with this are secret missions for both the dashing one-eyed hero Captain Stryker and his sultry passionate amour Lisette, plus a vendetta with the villainous Eli Makepeace.
Each page is crammed with excitement but at the same time shows a deep understanding of what it was like when Englishman fought against Englishman with shifting loyalties and bloody reprisals.
This is definitely not a book before bedtime - unless you want to be up all night reading it!
